2018 High Notes Music Festival Lineup Announced

Posted 7 years ago

Panorama Mountain Resort is ready to roll out another weekend of purely Canadian tunes

PANORAMA, B.C. – December 1, 2017 – 7 acts. 2.5 days. Elevation: 1175 metres.

Seven of the nation’s best emerging independent artists and groups will delight the stage with their award-winning talents from March 23 to 25, 2018. From contemporary folk to indie rock, fast-paced fiddles to soulful harmonies, this year's lineup is sure to get toes a-tapping and boots a-stomping.

"We've pulled musicians from right across the country," says Clarissa Amaro, Panorama’s Signature Events Specialist. "Their music, paired with the mountains, is a reminder of the huge talent and wild terrain here in Canada."

Who will be on the stage?

Combining alt-country style with Inuit throat-singing and reggae, The Jerry Cans will be bringing high energy sounds from Canada's north to Panorama's alpine setting. Known for catchy vocals and memorable melodies, the Edmonton-based Scenic Route to Alaska will rock Saturday night with their ballads and bangers. Wild Honey, a female trio of singer-songwriters from the Kootenays, will be sending sweet roots music up and over the mountain skyline. Festival goers will explore the depths of soul, folk and blues with the plunk and pluck of Jay Gilday's guitar. Gilday recently won Indigenous Artist of the Year at the 2017 BreakOut West Awards. Plus, Panorama's slopes will shake, rattle and roll with the sonic gifts of three more dance-heavy bands.

The weekend-long festival will be a combination of free gigs, ticketed performances, and pay-on-the-door events.
